You are going to have to call, call again and again and again, and email. When you feel fed up and think ” they are shafting me” you are going to have to swallow It and call again. Never, ever be rude. Ask for help from everyone you speak with, but don’t sound needy. Explain your situation, offer supporting documents, and reassure the lender that you want to live in your home for the long term.

If there’s no way “on heaven or earth” you could be forced to leave your home, then take solace in the fact that most banks can be flexible. If you only missed a handful of payments, and want to keep your house, then sometimes the loan company will just add the missed home loan payments back onto your loan. Your bank loan balance is pennies to them. Not even a drop in the basket. Point out that you need a little assistance, and that ultimately they’ll end up making a lot more cash in the future.. Taking a huge loss is not on the agenda for the banks. They do not want to foreclose on you because they know that if they put in the effort to work a deal out with you they will make an incredible profit in the end.

It sounds obvious, but for some reason, mortgage lenders seem to forget it when saying no to someone in crisis.
